Birthday Celebration

With lots of excitement all week, the party went on without a hitch. If you haven't been notified, red is the new favorite color...

Mazie decided to wear her new red shirt and white "ball" sweater (thanks, Laughreys, for that lovely Christmas present).

Mazie even let Jamie watch her open her gifts and cards.

Mazie got some nice things. A pogo stick was the best gift, although the rest of her things were a very close second.

Mazie enjoyed all her cards too, reading each one very well. She really liked the handmade ones. Jamie enjoyed the music ones, dancing as Mazie read.

Then it was onto the party. Complete with singing and six red candles on her strawberry cake.

Then we had to tape the feathers to the turkey monkey. Mazie picked out the feathers and everyone would tape them fast to the turkey monkey...

And Mazie did the monkey tail.

Thanks to everyone who was here. You really made her day by joining her celebration. So turning six wasn't so bad (for mom, anyway). It's getting a little easier since I have accepted the fact that they will get bigger and older. I really can't do anything about it except make it the best celebration. Happy birthday, Big Girl. We love you.
