Weekend Update: Part Two

Happy Fourth of July, everyone! We really had a nice weekend. I am sad to say it is over but only for a short while. This is a short week, yay!

Monday we decided to go to the beach for a while. The girls had a good time playing in the sand. Jeremiah tried to get the kite in flight but there was little wind. Maybe next time.

Then we had a little cookout with the Leonelli's. Nella, Dan, and James came for burgers on the grill and the normal fourth of July fixin's. Mazie and Jamie decided they wanted to introduce James to the game of Plinko. If any of you are wondering it is like Plinko from the Price Is Right. Jeremiah throws two balls in the air (into the tree) and they find their way down to the bottom where the kids are standing. The point is to try to bonk the kids on their heads with the balls. Jeremiah isn't very good at this game. He has hit the girls maybe three or four times. They just laugh and egg him on. Anyway, here they are getting ready for the balls to drop...

Jeremiah promised the girls a campout as soon as the weather was nice and there was time on the weekend. Well, here we are. The girls get to use their sleeping bags in the tent. Jeremiah pitched the tent in the yard, inflated the air mattress (really roughing it, huh?), and put the sleeping bags and bedtime stories all in order. After the cookout, they went to bed. This is what I found in the morning...

Mazie on the couch. She couldn't handle her little sister wanting to snuggle all night. Mazie likes her space and Jamie likes to snuggle. Since that combo doesn't typically go together, Mazie made her way into the house and onto the couch (with a little help from dad). Jamie enjoyed the tent, though. She slept until 8:30 this morning (that's 12 hours without going to the potty!).

After breakfast, the girls decided to put princess dressings on my toes. Jeremiah and I were chatting and they just started doing it. They thought it was quite funny and it did end up looking pretty hilarious. They were having so much fun. Jamie helped do Mazie's toes, too.

It was time to put the toys away and get ready for our cookout with the Laughrey's. We all met at the Love residence for some fun in the sun. The pool was actually hot (jacuzzi-like) so no one stayed in too long.

Mazie had fun jumping off the side of the pool into Jeremiah's arms. She certainly loves to make a splash!

Then there was my little fish who just loved to swim around...let's not forget Kelsea in her little floater. She was kicking her way around the pool and having a good time.

We had some really great food and a wonderful time at the Love's (thank you!). We came home just in time to play a little before starting the bedtime routine. You would never guess these girls love each other so much, right?

Mazie decided to try to take a photo of Jeremiah and me. It wasn't bad so I decided to add it to the post.

So here we are at the end of our long weekend. We had a really nice, relaxing weekend together. Back to the grind tomorrow!
