This and That

Jeremiah has been in school now for two weeks! He's never been to a regular collage before for his own classes so this is all new for him. He goes to UCCS (University of Colorado in Colorado Springs) for 4 days and then to the Academy for a day. So far, he is enjoying the curriculum!

We have an awesome new babysitter. Her name is Laurel and Jacob is just in love with her! She watches him every Tuesday and Thursday so the girls and I can take the noon taekwondo class together. She puts him down for his nap and leaves when we get home. When he wakes from his nap, he is typically upset that she is not here anymore! I asked him if she is his girlfriend. He smiled and me and said, "But I still like you." Nice!

So what have we been up for our summer break? Well, when it's hot (and it's been quite a bit lately), the kids like to play in the sprinklers. Jacob calls them "sprinkles". The water is quite cold...
Just perfect to run through on a hot day. Jeremiah sits on a chair (out of range of the sprinklers) and throws balls for the kids to fetch. It's great fun!
Jamie sometimes pinches the hose so the water doesn't come out of the flower head (if that is what we are using instead of sprinklers) and Mazie waits for her to let it go. Seriously, my kids are weird!
They sometimes use the flower head to the hose to make the playset slide into a slip 'n slide. Jacob doesn't like that since he can't get up the slide while it is wet. So he just hangs on the side of the playset or plays in the mud...
Father's Day weekend was quite eventful in our house. Friday night, Jeremiah decided to do some yard work. He was trimming two branches from the tree while the kids watched (after Mom said to stay away so they wouldn't get anything in their eyes). What do you know? Jamie got a piece of saw dust in her eye! She was so upset. I washed out her eye and even saw a little piece come out. She went to bed with her eye a little irritated but otherwise just fine. We even ventured to the zoo on Saturday. Her eye was fine until we got home and then became puffy and red. So we went to urgent care. The doc examined her eye finding no cuts or pieces. It was just irritated. He sent us home with some drops which we used only on Sunday because her eye is completely back to normal!
Sunday was a lovely day of just being together. The kids gave Jeremiah lots of homemade goodies for Father's Day. We went to the park in the afternoon too. A park we have been to many times. Jacob loves one of the ladders that spirals to the top. He loves that he can do it all by himself and has done it with ease many, many times. This day, however, he didn't have his footing completely onto the top surface and fell. Almost 5 feet from the landing of the playset onto wood chips! Yes, Jeremiah and I were both in mud for what seemed like hours until we finally were able to run to his rescue. Of course, he knocked the wind out of himself since he landed on his head! He finally calmed down enough for me to check that there were no broken bones and no serious gashes. After a good bath, arnicare (totally recommend this to anyone with kids!), and a good night of sleep, this is what it looked like in the morning...
He had no problems showing it off for the camera!
Jacob, for the record, is just fine. No pain, whatsoever and most of those scrapes are gone already! He's quite the trooper, I tell you. He survived his first major accident. Mom and Dad, however, are still having nightmares!
Go check out the business blog. I've changed a few things around and made it look more professional, in my opinion. What do you think?

Happy Wednesday!

That's quite a fall he took- ouch! WE've been doing a lot of water fun here, too- yea for summer! That's so cool you're able to take a midday class and get a sitter, Megan. What a nice way to spend some of your summer days with the girls!
