Balloon Classic

Sunday we went to the Balloon Classic. Our neighbors told us that Saturday morning was a bust. The fog lifted and the wind made it too unsafe for the pilots. I was hoping Sunday would be different. We got up and noticed that the fog was not nearly as bad as Saturday morning so we took a chance and drove downtown to Memorial Park. When we got there we heard the announcement that they were delayed until 8am. No big deal. We were able to walk around the launching pads and see all the cool balloons and their pilots getting ready. We even saw Santa waiting...

We were delighted when Arky was getting ready. We were hoping to see Arky this year. It was our favorite from last year!

While we were watiting for the balloons to launch, we headed to the lake and found a little spot for the kids to play for a while...

Then the pilots got the ok to start launching. We were thrilled...

And Jacob's opinion...

I was excited that the balloons were heading over to the lake. The pilots try to touch their baskets into the lake. It is pretty spectacular...
I thought this was kind of a cool photo. I didn't know if it would turn out when I was under it but I think it turned out pretty good...
It really was a nice morning. We also had a nice end to our colorful day with this...
I have a slide show on the sidebar of the rest of our photos from the balloon classic. Enjoy!

Very cool. Would love to see that in person. Love the photo that shows the balloon reflection in the water.
