I am not really sure where to start with our crazy weekend. So I guess I will start with what was going on here at home. Jeremiah sent me many pictures on Friday with lots of snow and rain and hail and thunder (ok I didn't really see that) and lightening. They had it all. It ended up that we received 6 inches. Not bad considering Denver was basically shut down. Anyway, since there was such crazy weather going on here in Colorado Springs, Mazie had the day off of school. This also made it a little easier for Jeremiah to try out potty training with Jacob. When Jeremiah would get the trusty ol' Powershot ready, this is the face he got...

So I when I see this picture, I see Jacob telling Jeremiah what he has to do. Get the step ready, the potty seat on the potty, and get on there in just enough time to go on the potty.
There's that face again...

So the results were that Jacob actually did go to the potty a couple of times but wasn't really motivated to go all the time. So we will keep on trying. Jacob did enjoy the fact that he could talk to me on the phone about his adventures in potty training...
Ok, so on to my part of the weekend. We started with a bit of a rocky start. If the plane wouldn't have been delayed by something wrong with the wheel pin, we wouldn't have had to sit on the runway for an hour because of the wind sheers due to the weather and that means we wouldn't have missed our connection flight and we wouldn't have missed renting our car since we were after hours and we certainly wouldn't have been checking into our hotel room at 1:30am instead of 11pm.
When the basics were finished stating their oath, they sang the air force song. Jamie calls this the "football song" because they play it at the games. It was pretty funny to what her punch the air at the "hey" part. So we had to take pictures, of course. Jamie was especially fond of Matthew's flight's mascot, the bulldog...
And here is proof that I was there. Jamie loved the bed and jumping on it...
This little guy, Aiden, filled Jamie's void from her brother not being with us...
He thought she was just so cool the way she would jump on the bed or the way she just showed him complete attention. He loved every minute of her. And would clap and do this huge smile when she was do anything that involved him...
Matthew, his son Aiden, my sister Jodi, Me, and Jamie. It was nice to be together...

Jacob did enjoy the fact that he could talk to me on the phone about his adventures in potty training... With that said, we really had a great time. We ended up staying in the room right next to my sister which was fun. So we went to my nephew's graduation from basic training. Since it was raining, they graduated by flight in their squad. It was nicer and more personal. So they marched in and waited for the 1 Star General to officiate the ceremony...
The basics taking their oath...
Jamie and I had a lot of fun together. It was nice to just be the two of us for a little while. I have to say that even though we had a great time in Texas, we are very happy to be home. The humidity was a little much for us both. Oh, and when we did get home on Saturday, there was very little snow in the yard. If the storm wouldn't have been all over the news, I would have thought that Jeremiah doctored those photos he sent to me over the phone!

Glad you had a great trip! So fun to see you in the photos. . . and to see what was happening on the home front. Jacob looks so cute on the potty--even if he's not quite ready to use it all the time.
