Let's start by catching up on the weekend. Jeremiah ran a 5K on Sunday. He did very well, finishing almost a minute faster than his first run. Check out the girls jamming to the music...
Jeremiah and a friend from work are planning on hiking Pike's Peak at the end of the August. Stay tuned for information on that.
Apparently, this is how you enjoy dessert on a warm evening...
Taking your dessert outside, beating your sisters to the playset picnic table, sitting on it before they realize what a great idea it was, and eating in peace (because everyone knows not to disturb Jacob when he is enjoying his dessert)!
One of the things my dad brought out in his van was a porch swing that Jeremiah and his pap made when Jeremiah was about 10 years old. Jeremiah sanded it down and we put a fresh coat of paint on it. Jeremiah put it back together. I love this picture because of the thought that I think was going through Jacob's head...
"What is he doing? I told him that wasn't right. He never listens to me. I'll show him..."
"It's this way, dad!"I'll show you a picture of the finished product when it is hanging. We haven't gotten that far yet.
Mazie informed me yesterday that she has a memory book in her head. That's how she remembers people we haven't seen for a while, or her ideas, or the rules (although I think they must be under lock and key right now since we've forgotten a few of them lately).
Jamie cannot wait for school to start. I asked her why she is so excited. She said, "Because Mazie will be there all day long. And because I will be going to the big school." I think it's funny that her first reason is because of Mazie being away and the second reason is kind of like an afterthought, like she realized that the first reason isn't really good.
School starts next week-Wednesday for Mazie and Thursday for Jamie. I think Jacob will be happy to have me all to himself for a few hours two days a week! I know I will be enjoying some time with just my little man.
