Since Mazie is so into her taekwondo, we agreed to let her do the fourth of July parade in Monument. We went last year with the Clarks. Here is a fun flash back...
And since Jamie wants to do everything Mazie does these days, we all signed up to walk the parade. So this is the girls waiting in the cool of the shade for our part of the parade to start...
and Jacob who took a quick cat nap...
I didn't realize how long the actual parade was but the girls did a great job. Jamie only had to ride on Jeremiah's shoulders for a short part. Not bad (but don't ask Jeremiah how his back feels!).
Then after a rejuvenating nap, the kiddos agreed to sit together for a little picture in all their red, white, and blue...
Then it was outside to play until our guests arrived...
I love this picture because Hayden looks like he was really watching Jacob walk around. I also love that Hayden is so long and practically touches the ground with those long legs and he is wearing Jamie's purple princess hat. It just makes me laugh.
After some yummy food, we lit some sparklers. I couldn't get Hayden and Amy together. Hayden didn't seem too interested in the sparkly sticks...
Mazie wasn't all that interested either. She waited until there were only a few left before she wanted to hold one or two. Jamie, however, was all about it. She wanted to hold two after she held one at a time for a while.
Happy Birthday, America! We hope you had a wonderful day, too.
This morning, we attempted to take our bikes to the Santa Fe Trail to ride for a while. We had no expectations and no time limit. Mazie had her bike, Jamie and Jacob were in the trailer. It was nice. We quickly figured out that there is not much room in the trailer for Jamie and Jacob but Jeremiah didn't have too much trouble pulling the extra 60lbs!
Jeremiah brought along the Garmin to see how far we went. We did 2.2 miles in a whopping 45 minutes! I think we are ready for one of those races the Browns ride in-HAA!! I have to say that Mazie did very well. So well, that when we got home, she wanted to take her training wheels off. We convinced her to just adjust them so they would be wider and then we would take them off after our next ride. So until the next bike ride...
