Here are some pictures from this afternoon with her friends, blowing out the candles, opening her gifts, and getting candy from the pinata...
By the way, for those of you who haven't done a pinata for some time, they are different now. Now the stores don't sell the sticks and blind folds anymore. The pinatas have strings that pull out of the bottom. Each kid takes a turn and pulls a string. There is only one string that actually opens it but you never know which one it will be. As soon as the candy falls out it is like old times. Kids pushing each other over to get the candy! Also, for those of you who have never had a party with the kids from school, I would strongly suggest doing it at a park or renting out a place. Don't be like me and have them all in your house!! It was an exhausting two hours.
Now that was the first party for the day. There was a smaller party that followed. The Killins and the Laughreys stayed longer. So we ordered pizza and let Mazie open their gifts after all the other kids went home. In this picture, Alla would have been in it but she decided she wanted to sit and watch instead. That is what she said anyway...
The real highlight of the evening was her bike. Mazie was sure she was getting this bike. Dad said that it made him feel old to be putting a bike together. I think it makes me feel old seeing her on it and actually be able to ride it. Old may not be the right word. I just don't know where the time has gone.
Mazie couldn't decide what her favorite gift was, the Strawberry Shortcake bike or a pink computer by Vtech from Pop Pop. She really wanted both and was very happy to have received both. She said it was a tie! I can live with that. I asked Mazie tonight if she had fun. She said that it was just what she wanted. That made my heart swell (and my eyes a little too). Jamie said it was "perfkekt". I think that says it all...
