Happy New Year

We decided to do a little house cleaning this weekend to end 2006. Actually it was more of a nesting phase for Jeremiah. We took everything out of the attic and went through it. We pulled out all the baby things we have, put other things into a yard sale pile, and put keepers back into marked boxes and into the attic. We were busy. On top of all this sorting, the girls helped get the bedrooms ready for when the baby comes. We put a bunch of toys and things over to the girls' bedroom. The girls helped place things in the baby's room. I think this is helping the get ready for our new addition. Here are a couple of pictures from this morning that makes me think this...

Since we did so much stuff this weekend that was not entirely about the girls and, since they did such a good job of helping us out and not getting into too much trouble, we decided to go to Valley Park this afternoon.

Here you are all witnesses at Mazie's first for the new year. She loves the monkey bars. However she has been unable to actually swing from bar to bar without help. That is until today. She actually did a couple of bars all by herself. She was so excited that she did it and we were very proud of her.

I am not sure why she does this, but Jamie goes up the step backwards for this set of slides. It is the only set of steps she does this on but she insists on going backwards.

And my little monkeys. They love this park so much. I am glad we were all able to go today.

Right before bathtime, Mazie was singing a song about the Ten Little Ladybugs book. Jamie, as you can see, is completely devoted to her big sister. It is as if the world stops around her when Mazie talks to her. I love these pictures because of how close they look. Jamie was actually ready to fall asleep because of Mazie's singing.
