San Francisco

We went to San Francisco on Saturday before ending our vacation. We got up early and drove to see a few sites and then drove back to Monterey. Here are a few photos of our day...

Jeremiah and the girls are posing with Alcatraz behind them. It was kind of hazy when we were at the beach. It is hard to tell what is in the background.

Of course, we couldn't pass up seeing the famous Lombard Street, America's crookedest street. The girls thought it was pretty neat how "curvy" it was.

After getting to Pier 39, we realized we didn't have enough time for a ferry ride to Alcatraz. We walked around the pier for a few minutes before finding a woman who was offering boats tours of the bay for $5 a person. We couldn't pass it up so we bought the last four seats on the boat and took at 30 minute tour around the bay. We got really close to the sea lions. There must have been at least 100 of them just laying in the sun.

We got a pretty nice picture of Alcatraz and some boats in the bay. It was pretty windy so a lot of sail boats were in the bay.

The captain of the boat let all the kids drive for a few minutes each. Mazie had a great time doing it. Jamie looked a little scared. I think mostly because she had to stand near the captain.

We walked around the pier for almost an hour just taking in all the scenery. We ended up at the carousel. It had two decks to it and was pretty neat. Jeremiah took the girls on it. This seemed like a nice way to end our trip.

We asked the girls on the way home what their favorite part of the week was and Mazie said, "All of it". Jamie said the same because monkey see, monkey do right now. I thought that was pretty cool!

Looks like everyone had a great week. Thanks for sharing all the West Coast sights. I am sure the girls will have plenty to say when I see them again. Love to all!!
