First thing, it was cold! I mean single digits (and teens) cold. We are not used to this kind of cold, dry weather. At least it snowed and made the cold worth it! Second thing, as soon as we got to Pop Pop's house, we had to make a fire in the fire place. Mazie was looking forward to this more than she was seeing the snow. Jamie was insistant that she would help this time. Check out my California girls without socks!
We went to Turkey Mam's house (Jeremiah's grandmother) and it started to snow. As soon as it started to lay on the ground, the girls wanted to go out and play. Of course, we did! We bundled them up in their winter coats, scarves, hats, and gloves and headed outside. All they did was walk up and (run) down the little hill. Occasionally there was a little slide (and fall) with that but they were having fun.
Jamie kept saying, "Mine eyes can't see the snow"! After almost 20 minutes we had to head inside. Again the girls are used to California!
We also were able to celebrate my Mom's birthday. It isn't very often that all of my siblings are in Pennsylvania at the same time. We all met for lunch and had a little party. Happy Birthday Mom!
We also had some fun with little Benjamin. He is going to be 1 year old at the end of February. As soon as anyone would have a camera ready, he would pose. You could say he was just a little used to the camera!
Aunt Jodi and the girls are sitting together here. This picture is funny because the girls think they are getting away with sitting on the arms of the chair. Can't you just see it in Jamie's face?
The main reason for going to Pennsylvania was because my Grandmother was turning 90! What an accomplishment. She was so happy to have everyone gathered together. Happy Birthday Gram. Here she is with her boys, my Dad and Uncle.
Here is the whole gang. All four of my nephews are in the back row, Jonathon, Joseph, Dustin, and Matthew. Then my brother-Josh, Jeremiah, and my brothers-in-law-Joe and Dan. Then in the front my sister-in-law-Carissa, me, and my sisters-Danielle and Jodi. And last but not least, Mazie and Jamie.
But in the end the girls just wanted to be at Pop Pop's house next to the fire. They loved the fire place. We burned so much wood that we need to plant a forest for Dad.
It was 6 degrees when we left Pennsylvania on Tuesday. After a really long day of fighting the weather to get home (note to self: never connect through O'hare in the winter again!), it was nice to land in Los Angeles to 60 degrees, even if we were 3 hours late! We had a really great time in Pennsylvania but there is nothing like sleeping in your own bed after a vacation.

You really need to look up old friends whenever you come to PA. Dennis and I are expecting our first on March 27th.
