Freaky Friday

It's been a little crazy around here this week. This is my attempt to catch up before the equally busy weekend!

1. Jacob has been into Dr. Suess lately. For example, if we are coming to a stop light, he will yell, "Stop Dog Stop! Light Red!" and then, of course, yell even louder "GO DOG GO! LIGHT GREEN!". The first time he said this to me I asked if he just called me "dog". He smiled and batted his baby blues and said "yes" very sweetly and then proceeded to chuckle. Stinker!

2. Since Jeremiah had Wednesday off for Veteran's Day, I was able to volunteer in Mazie's class. It was fun to watch her in her element. I was shocked at how independently the kids worked when they were supposed to. It was nice to see.

3. Jeremiah prepared Mazie's lunch on Wednesday. I always write a note on her napkin. I typically don't get any feedback on that note. Wednesday, however, Jeremiah simply wrote, "I love you". Mazie couldn't wait to tell me after school. Like that was the best thing ever written to her in all of her years of life! Yes, I was a little crushed...

4. When Jacob started talking, he called Jamie "JJ" which turned into "Chi Chi". Mazie was "Me Me" but once he got "Mazie" he switched to saying only "Mazie". He calls Jamie "Chi Chi" all the time except for when he is upset with her. Then it is a very clear (and loud) JAMIE. In fact, once in a while, he even calls her "Chi-Chi-licious". We actually all get caught once in a while calling her that one!

5. Jamie isn't exactly the most graceful little girl. She loves to wear skirts and dresses but doesn't get the whole sit-with-your-knees-together thing. She falls all the time. She can be walking in a straight line and trip over absolutely nothing in that cartoon way. Know what I mean? Like slow motion, completely and totally falling on her back or belly. Seriously, not very graceful. She always gets up, makes sure she isn't bleeding (yes, sometimes it's that hard of a fall), and says, "I'm ok" and laughs at herself.

6. Jacob has picked up that habit. He slips or bonks his head. He will look up to see if I saw what happened and say, "I'm OK" and laugh. I guess I have some tough kids!

7. Jamie has had a little bit of a stinker streak in her lately. We will just finish telling Mazie why something she was doing wasn't exactly the best thing to do and turn around and have to tell Jamie the same thing. We know she was listening when we were talking to Mazie. Why? She will also sing instead of talk. And not pretty singing. Opera singing. Yes, opera singing to answer a question isn't exactly what I was looking for. It's a little frustrating...

8. Tomorrow is a big day for us Stahr ladies. We have a Masters Challenge. There are two of these events a year and we need to participate in order to get a red star. We need 4 red stars to be eligible to test for our black belt. So tomorrow is my second, Jamie's third, and Mazie's fourth Masters Challenge. We are going to be breaking boards and getting medals. It will be very exciting. Wish us luck...

Happy Friday!
