Today was 100th day of school. Jamie's class was to work on putting a collage together of 100 things. Jamie wanted to do a cookie jar and glue 100 mini cookies on a piece of paper but it didn't work. The cookies' dust didn't let them stay glued. So onto plan B. She wanted to create a castle out of toothpicks. So Dad helped her with the glue (read: he smeared glue all over the paper basically doing the messy part) while she placed the toothpicks in her particular order.
She constructed a castle. When the glue dried, she colored the toothpicks to make it colorful.

She was so proud of her castle. She had to carry it outside of her bag so that the toothpicks wouldn't come off in her bag. I think she just wanted to show it off right away! She came home with a necklace made out of 100 fruit loops on a string and a 100 crown. When she can't stop talking about the things they did in school (beside when she has snack), it's a good day!
The third graders were too busy taking the CSAP (Colorado State Assessment Program) tests today to be bothered with 100th day. More on that later.

Great castle, Jamie...I think it would be fun to make those necklaces at your next birthday party...wouldn't that be cool? ( AND you can eat the necklaces too!)
Can't wait to hear about your tests, Mazie!...or how it was to take them!
Love you and miss you!
Toothpicks are a good choice for the 100th Day of School! Great castle, Jaime!
