Canning Update

The Pear and Apple sauces are finished. We were able to get the pearsauce completely done on Wednesday. We ended up taking the whole day to do all the pears so we continued on Friday with the applesauce. We didn't need the whole day for that. They both turned out very yummy and all of our jars sealed! I had a lot of fun doing it. Thanks, Rachel, for helping make the sauces and for the use of your canners.

Doesn't he look like he was making sure we were doing it right? Little Turkey. He was pretty content to sit in his bumbo seat for a while before needed to eat...

Mazie said a funny thing one of the days. She was telling us about her boyfriend Joseph and how she was going to marry him. Rachel said, "Do you know you name will be Mazie Doogen?" Mazie said, "Or it will be Joseph Stahr"! She didn't even think about it. It just came right out of her mouth. How's that for women's lib?

Jamie got some new sneakers this week. She loves Mazie's pink chuckies that the Killins got her for her birthday. We found some cute little blue ones with flowers and stars on them. She has worn them three times already. She also had a really great week at school. She won't eat the lunches but she loves being there with the kids.

Jacob absolutely LOVES peas. I made about 2 cups of mashed up peas on Friday. He ate about 1/2 a cup on Friday and 1/2 a cup tonight. And there was an "mmmm" sound with each bite. This is so far his favorite. He is back to waking only once a night now. Such a relief on us old parents!
