Funny Things

This past weekend was a bit interesting. Jeremiah and I were in stitches laughing at our girls most of the time.

Jamie was eating some crackers at lunch time. She decided she didn't want any more and was, apparently, bored. Somehow a piece about 1/2 an inch in size managed to make it into her nose with the help of her finger. All of a sudden, she was looking at me with big crocodile tears in her eyes pointing to her nose. Jeremiah tried to make her blow her nose. He was on his way to get a pair of tweezers (safe, I know) when she blew it out for me. Needless to say, she won't be sticking anything in her nose for a while (besides her finger).

Mazie wanted to know what White Diffandel tasted like. She was listening to us talk about the wine we had in the house and decided to join the conversation. She knows most of the wines by name but that one came out pretty funny.

Jeremiah and I were giving the girls words to sing while they were dancing around and playing their air guitars at one point. Jamie squealed "back in black" which was quite funny. Mazie came into the living room to tell me "welcome the jungle. I like funny games". I love when they get things close but not quite right.

Mazie was riding her bike so fast that she felt like she had lost control. It scared her to the point that I had to pull her off of the bike so she could walk home. Scared stiff! All that happened was that she was going fast and skidded the brakes. She wiggled the bike a bit and felt as if she would fall. The training wheels would have never let her fall.

You all have to understand something. Jeremiah and I usually don't laugh at our children. Really, what kind of parents would we be if we laughed at our children's misfortunes? We do what other parents do and wait until they are in bed or out of earshot to laugh uncontrollably at them. I hope you are having a good start to your week.

We have to laugh at our kids. I even laugh at OTHER people's kids! It's great to blog to remember these days - I need to do better about documenting their silliness!
Thanks for the laughs today!

i come home from school everyday and the first thing Scott says when I see him is "tell me something funny one of your kids did today..." He sometimes won't believe me when i say "nothing really funny happened today..." he thinks something funny HAS to happen everyday with the kids! it's so true though!

The "funnies" sound just like what those girls are capable of creating! Very interesting!

Ironic that it's so funny to us, but so traumatic to them (at the time, at least)! Luckily kids are resilient and eventually will be laughing about themselves!
